Community Garden

Sign up to participate in the 2024 growing season at Veterans Park! Garden plots will be available from early May to mid-October. Preference will be given to those living in high-density housing without current access to gardening space. Two accessible, raised-table garden beds will also be available . Plot rental is $45 for the season. Due to limited space, only Richfield residents are allowed to apply. You can register online, over the phone (612-861-9385), or in person at the Community Center. Registration opens March 4th at 9 AM.

2024 Season Timeline
March 4: Registration opens
April: Participants are notified of their plot assignment
Early May: Gardens open 
June 1st: Deadline for plots to be planted otherwise forfeited to waitlist
October 23: End of the growing season; Deadline for all materials to be removed from plots

Other information:
  • There are not bathrooms at the garden. The nearest portable bathrooms are by the pavilion and bandshell. During open hours, there are bathrooms at the Mini-golf building or the Ice Arena.
  • Water is provided on site for the gardens; the tanks are filled by city staff.
