The HRA pays the rent subsidy directly to the owner of the rental property with funds provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).Any type of private rental housing is eligible provided that the unit meets federal housing quality standards (HQS) and is licensed by the city. Also the city does not have any public housing.
