Wood Lake Endowment Treetree

The endowment tree has been set up so that people can commemorate someone with a gift that keeps on giving. Buying a leaf means that the interest can be spent year after year to benefit the park and all of its endeavors. It will be engraved and can honor a loved one, celebrate a special occasion, or can simply be a donation.

Money donated to purchase a leaf will go into the endowment fund set up by FOWL. The interest earned on the principle will be spent on projects to benefit the nature center and its goal of providing quality environmental education and leisure experiences for the community. The money can never go toward any other City of Richfield facility or service.

Donation Levels:
  • Bronze leaves $250
  • Silver leaves $500
  • Gold leaves $1000
  • Rocks $2000 and up

The production timeline is as follows: Engraving requests will be forwarded to the engraving company where they will make a mock-up of the leaf and email a proof to Wood Lake staff. After that, Wood Lake staff will email donors for approval. Once approved, it usually takes 2 weeks for fabrication. Donors can choose to put up the leaf themselves or Wood Lake staff can affix the leaf if preferred.

Wood Lake Gateway Garden Tree

WLNC Gateway Garden Tree

WLNC Gateway Garden Leaf

The Gateway Garden was created to make the entry to Wood Lake come alive.  The flowers, water feature, benches and picnic tables all create a comforting and soothing place to rest, converse, or wind through on your way into the park.

Memorial leaves are available to honor your loved ones. The Gateway Tree is located in the front of the nature center in the Gateway Garden Shelter.  Each memorial leaf is $250 and is a tax deductible donation to Wood Lake. This memorial donation will provide funding to continue managing and improving the beautiful gateway gardens, assist in developing educational programs, and research projects while giving your loved ones a lasting remembrance at Wood Lake. Please contact Paul Smithson via email or at 612-861-9366 with any questions.
